First Time Solver Teaches Others

Ok. So I couldn't solve the Rubik's Cube when I was a kid. There wasn't a You CAN Do the Rubik's Cube program around back then! I tried once or twice and that was enough for me to be humiliated. I never picked it up again... until I was an adult. And I mean a middle-aged adult. Whatever that means?!

Anyway, this time somebody shared some information about the Rubik's cube that I wasn't aware of, or not smart enough to figure it out on my own. With this little bit of knowledge, I was able to follow some instructions that were pretty old but supposedly effective in helping others solve the cube.

After reading the instructions over and over again, and a few several phone calls to my colleagues and others, I finally solved the Rubik's Cube! I was so excited I showed my kids and my wife and ran around the house with joy!

Then, after I calmed down, I cautiously mixed it up and did it again. I failed a few times, along the way, but I did solve it over and over again. What me and my colleague realized was that there was a better way to show people how to solve the Rubik's cube. Once that was created, we began to test the new way to do it.

And then something special happened - we realized how much fun it was to share the secret with others! Every time somebody solved the Rubik's cube, we got excited all over again. It was the coolest thing to experience. And not only that, we actually witnessed people who solved the Rubik's cube for their first time teaching other people how to solve it. It was contagious!

I still have fun teaching people how to solve the Rubik's cube! There's nothing like watching somebody think they can't do something, and then showing them how to do it and watching them succeed. And along the way - there are so many other things happening! It can transform the relationships because it's a rite of passage that's happening right there before your very eyes!

Pretty cool...

I'm a teenager and I have been able to solve the cube for about 1 year now. I can also solve the 4X4X4 Rubik's Cube which is a bigger challenge, but still just as fun!!!

The first time I tried my cube, the thing was stuck. I had to lub it and then when I started solving, I ran into a problem again. Now I learned the Rubik's cube.

I got a Rubik's Cube about half a year ago. I made simple twists and twisted it back into position. Only then I twisted it like six times and I forgot how to twist it back. I was twisting that thi ng all day. Then when I whent to bed I forced my dad to work on it all night. Because,I was so upset that i think I half peeled off a sticker. When I woke up he told me that he VERY painstakingly solved the cube. I mean, he's only ever been able to solve one side.

But now i made a model rubiks cube with wooden blocks and acrilic paint. and i can sort of use it to help solve my rubiks cube. Unfotunatly, right now my rubiks cube is solved and it's staying that way for a LONG time.

well, I pretty much summed up everything in two paragraphs , I'm leaving now.

I"m 69 years old and it takes me 9 minutes to solve the cube. I don't have everything memorized yet, so I have to look at the instructions after I get the center layer solved. I've been teaching myself using http://www.youcandothecube.com I started 10 days ago and have steadily improved my time and accuracy since then. I believe I'll have the solution memorized in two more weeks. I'll come back and let everyone know when I can solve the cube without having to look at the instructions. Can't tell you how thrilling this has been for me, and I can't wait until I've mastered it so I can start amazing my friends and family (my husband is already pretty amazed! ). LOL
