3:04.11 was my best time of five.
I competed in a World Cube Association sponsored (Rubik's Cube) competition on October 24, 2009.
It was GREAT.
I was very nervous and made mistakes, but I didn't give up and I finished! As a result I am now ranked #1,613th in the USA:

If I hadn't quit the first solve when I lost concentration, I might have had a better average score. I didn't realize that the average would be of the remaining times, after the worst and the best scores were discarded. This means that if the solve I quit was under 6:35.83, my final average score would have been lower.
The whole experience has been exhilarating!
I must say, I'm hooked! I'm continuing to practice to increase my speed, and I'm developing plans to become a volunteer, teaching other senior citizens, like myself, to solve the cube. My daughter, Thea, and granddaughter, Lucia, are now hooked-up with youcandothecube.com and are determined to catch up (and I'm sure surpass) grandma on the Rubik's Cube. I couldn't be happier!
Keep Cubbing! --Val
